Pomegranate molasses is a traditional syrup from the Middle East, made from fresh pomegranates. It has a thick and syrupy texture with a tangy flavor. It is usually drizzled over savory dishes, salads and especially fattoush salad (the archetypal Lebanese peasant salad). Our Pomegranate Molasses is an exceptional product and a daily must-have in the kitchen. It is 100% natural and sugar free.
Our pomegranate molasses is carefully produced by a small women's cooperative in Akkar in the north of Lebanon.
Replace balsamic vinegar for seasoning salads and grilled vegetables. Used as a marinade for meat and fish. A drizzle on hummus or baba ghanouj to add a touch of acidity.

How it all began
The trip began with the charity St. Vincent de Paul. Philippe Adaime, Samir Abdelmalak, Joanne Karkour, Gabriel Debbane and Jad Bitar were taken to Lebanese communities in the south devastated by the 2006 war. Their first encounter was with the agricultural cooperative of the women of Ain Ebel, which produced herbal teas, sesame seeds, sumac and zaatar. The support they provided to these resilient women was successful and encouraged them to extend their experience to other rural cooperatives throughout the country where serious support was needed. As a result of the growing demand and success, Fair Trade Lebanon, a non-profit grassroots organization, was established. Its main goal is to help Lebanese producers stay in their community and export their gourmet Lebanese food products.

The brand was created by Fair Trade Lebanon with passion and great appreciation for authentic Lebanese gastronomy, fine handmade foods and their unique traditional and tasty recipes. About the producers
Our producers are the main source of our high quality products. Mostly women's cooperatives and micro to small enterprises based in rural areas. Dedicated to protecting Lebanese culinary heritage and traditional know-how, they maintain high quality, sustainable production with the utmost respect for the workers, the soil and the finished product, contributing to both the community and the planet. All of our producers work according to fair trade principles. We help them strengthen their skills and develop their production, while providing technical assistance and capacity building.
Together with them, we offer you a taste of authentic and exquisite Lebanese cuisine with consistent quality and commitment to international standards.
